Love Is Love: Business Women Creating Magic For Marriage Equality

In the weeks leading up to Australia’s marriage equality win (hooray!!), a group of incredible women joined forces on the Gold Coast to create three beautiful photo shoots celebrating love.  The brainchild of Emilia Lorena, this Miss rallied up florists, photographers, couples and more to bring a vision of explosive beauty to life.

“I didn’t want to do just another typical wedding shoot…  My wedding styling is never traditional.  My new venue [Mo’s Desert Clubhouse] screams character and that there is a story to be told,” says Emilia.  With Mo’s Desert Clubhouse’s sky-high psychedelic mural, powder pink walls, and rustic copper piping, Emilia is bang on the money.

“So I ditched the idea of using models and put the call out to feature real couples.

The response was incredible… Not only did these three couples get on board with my ideas, but they gave it their all.  It was a day filled with music, dancing, champagne and most importantly – a day of love.”

“Meika and Yaz were glowing with pure happiness and love all day which made everyone’s hearts explode… 5 minutes with these two souls and you know that golden glow they wear is an everyday look for them that’s never going to fade. When I asked them if they could explain anything to anyone about homosexuality, their response was;

 

“To those people who justify the inequality of same-sex couples because ‘they just don’t understand it,’ you don’t need to understand. We are not asking you to take part in our relationship.

Not understanding doesn’t make us any less human, it doesn’t make our feelings any less important, our life goals less achievable, our morals less moral and our love less significant. Just understand we all strive for the same happiness”
