Yeah, okay, we’re getting in a bit early. But we just had to share our top 5 inspiring business women with you for 2017 right NOW because we couldn’t possibly hold it in any longer.
We are completely in awe of these powerful ladies conquering the world with their new business ventures and continuing to slay at businesses they’ve already established. Seriously, we just can’t get enough of it.
Whether we’re working with, admiring or interviewing absolute legends, we feel super lucky to do what we do. So don’t let this list fool you, we’ve got oodles more inspirational business women on our radar (we could go on forever…).
And we cheated a little bit because some of these businesses have more than one lass in them. But we’ve justified this by categorising them into their collective businesses (sneaky).
Here are our top business crushes on ladies who have killed it in 2017!
This absolute wonder woman is a Mumma, business owner and a lady on a mission!
Karen quit her gig in the corporate world to chase her dreams and create her Virtual Assistant business in Perth almost 18 months ago. Not only is Mrs. V. bursting with creativity (and has a name that makes us envious of it coolness), Karen also hands out freebie monthly calendars that we are allll about.
We’ve always had serious heart eyes for the gals at Spell and the Gypsy Collective.
Created by two sisters, Isabella and Elizabeth, Spell and the Gyspy Collective designs beautiful clothing in Byron Bay – just so much yas!
Having such inspirational women so close to home is a bit spesh. And the entire team combined (you only have to check out their Instagram to see just how many that is) create a powerful girl gang that it’s safe to say, we all wish we were a part of.
Super talented ladies like Mel Carrero (you can read our interview here) who runs Spell’s PR department each add their individual sparkle to this incredible empire of inspiring women.
We’re super jelly of their frequent content up on the website too and those dreamy photoshoots seem to conveniently pop up as we’re hitting procrastination mode.
Julie and Samara at Wild Heart Jewellery are an absolute force to be reckoned with. If you haven’t caught them at Burleigh’s The Village Markets or scrolled for days on their online store, then you are missing out.
This mumma-daughter power duo released a new collection, Velvet Underground and a Health and Wellbeing hub on their website this year alone.
Jetsetting to Bali to create their beautiful jewellery and taking you along for the ride, our favourite thing about Wild Heart Jewellery is their drive.
Creating signature pieces of jewellery to unlock femininity and bad assery in equal parts, Wild Heart Jewellery is constantly striving, creating and exploring new avenues to bring you incredible pieces.
Mo’s Desert Clubhouse opened earlier this year and the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we were home.
Kim Ferguson (who also runs Beats Cartel), along with her partner Christian and Emilia Lorena (who also runs a fab macrame business – we caught up with here), have seriously injected a whole lot of sass into Burleigh Waters.
Kim and Christian met Lorena at Burning Man and to cut a long story short, they all moved to the Gold Coast to chase their dreams! It takes serious guts to pack your life up into a bag (or in Kim’s case, a giant gig van) and open a music venue in an industrial estate.
But these guys are absolutely killing it and we love their unique style. We’ve hosted workshops in their event rooms for hire and they’re perfect if you’re looking for a venue with a bit of zing. Mo’s also has a gig room, puts on live music nights, hosts all types of collaborative events, photo shoots and more! Check out a piece we wrote about their opening. Ah, the love is real.
We had the pleasure of interviewing Erin Norden from Clean Beauty Market early this year and are so in love with this new non-toxic beauty bar in Nobby’s Beach!
Erin is super down to earth and plays it so real. She was sick of buying plant-based beauty products and missing out on the beauty bar experience. Her brand new business opened just this year and it is changing all of that.
Clean Beauty Market is Erin’s first business and one of the only completely plant-based beauty bars in the whole of Australia! Stocking a whole bunch of clean products, from makeup and skin care to inner health products and even fake tans – You’re going to want to check out their online store! The place feels super fancy and the dolls there will make you feel a million bucks.
We’re crushing all over this business initiative and can’t wait to celebrate Erin’s successes with her along the way!
